Excellent place to bring the family
"This past weekend I went there with my family for a birthday celebration. we were a party of 11. Everything was cooked to perfection. We are big steak eaters and this was definetly the right place to go. The staff is very friendly and made our birthday celebration a night to remember. "

What a wait
Pros: Good food
Cons: Wait staff is very sloooooooooooooooooooow
"It was not very crowded but we had to wait for over 15 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. We did receive water right away from someone else but we sat there with nothing to eat, not even bread, for about 15 minutes. When the waitress did come over, she had a chip on her shoulder and was very short with our party. If you have lots of time and are not hungry, then I say go...if you are hungry, ride on by and go somewhere else"

Great night out
Pros: Nice atmosphere and staff
Cons: none
"The power was out at the resort; best thing that could of happened since we ended up eating at the Big A. They were busy because most other restaurants were without power. They handled it quite well and the food was the best we'd had while in the Poconos."

not a top choice
Pros: ?
Cons: price and mediocre food
"I have been here twice because my father thinks it is great. I think the food is plain and over priced. At our last family dinner here the fireplace was smoking so baddly I could barely breathe. "

Good Food, Tiresome Atmosphere
Pros: Food and cleanliness
Cons: music and ambiance
"Just read a few comments for this restuarant and I have to say first that they have very good food, we go there at least once a month. They are a little pricey, but if your vacationing, this could be your best bet locally. Our last waitress was professional, but not personal, the music is a poor choice of 60s music, and lots of soft raggae and hard rock, not what you really would expect to eat a meal to. However the place is usually clean, (and I have never smelled mold!). So if you like steak and pasta-give this place a chance"

Given a choice, i would pass on this one.....
Pros: Never crowded
Cons: stale bread, stale air, stale service and boring food!
"Nothing special here. Bland food, and the place kind of smells like mold. Been here a few times to give it a fair chance. We won't be back. Not worth the price or the trip."

Good time, good food
Pros: good food, good time, good service
Cons: none
"I was looking at reviews for this restaurant and was surprised to see someone wrote a bad review on the brunch, I a regular Sunday Brunch diner and have never had a bad brunch or bad service there ever. The food is always good and I always have a good time when I am there. Sometimes they have been busy but even when things empty they are filled quickly. I know many people who I have recommended the brunch to and they always tell me the same thing, that is was delicious and service was friendly. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents since it seems odd that there would be anything negative to say about the brunch. Me or my friends have certainly never had a bad experience there. "

Lousy service poor quality
Pros: none
Cons: lots
"After a terrible brunch experience I called twice and left a message for the manager, giving them an opportunity to explain the debacle we encountered; I received no return call. Arriving for brunch at 12.30 on a Sunday in March 2011 the buffet table was more than half empty, bins were refilled only after three complaints and 45 minutes of waiting, and the service staff repeatedly disappeared, leaving us scrambling for more coffee. One gentleman walked around for 10 minutes trying to locate anyone willing to take his payment for brunch. "

Won't go out of my way
Pros: Decent setting, friendly wait staff
Cons: Too pricey for the area
"Well I won't drive out of my way to go back. Had a gift certficate so went for an early mid-week dinner. Our waiter was the guy who seated us...no big deal, but we noticed everyone was told the specials, we weren't. Then surrounding tables got bread & butter, we didn't. Even the salad was extra, so our meal, while tasty, was quite expensive. Honestly, with so many new restaurants in the area, you can get more for your money at many other places. Again, what's included at so many other places, is what really pushed up our bill. One thing this restaurant and others need to remember, not everyone is a tourist...so decent prices and quaility should be expected all the time. My neighbors also went to the Sunday bunch recently for a large family gathering and said how many items weren't available from months earlier. Another local family who won't be going back."

Great experience!
Pros: A totally great dinning experience!
"After a crazy week at work and the kids deciding to be with friends on Friday it became date night for my wife and I and I'm glad we went here for dinner. It felt like a sweat box outside with high temperatures and super high humidity but when we walked in the restaurant it was cool and comfortable. We were greeted with a friendly hello from our host and he was willing to accommodate us in that we wanted to be in a room with all adults. The chairs were comfortable and the table was neatly set. In a few short moments a very nice young lady came to deliver bread and butter, fill our water glasses and take our drink order while we reviewed the menu. Stefanie would be terrific throughout the evening and she earned every penny of her gratuity. Since we were out for a date we actually had time to talk and unwind and our waitress checked back with us twice before taking our order. Our drink order came out right on time my wife's Martini was delicious and my wine was an excellent selection to accompany my meal.
We shared a family style salad and were certainly not being rushed. The dishes were removed and we had some time to digest but not too much time that we felt like we were forgotten about. Stefanie visited us a few times to refill water glasses and always asked was there anything we needed. We felt special even though we didn't know her until this evening and she was taking care of many tables at the same time, the place was full of diners. I felt very welcomed and this wasn't for show, it came natural for their staff. Our meals came out and my wife ordered eggplant and pasta in a marinara suace (which when an Italian women orders it - it better be good) she really liked the flavors in this dish. I had a strip steak, vegetables and a baked potato. My steak was grilled medium just the way I like it. The chef must really know what he's doing because he let it sit a while before it came out to me because the juices were not boiling out of the meat - they settled back to the center.
Tiramisu to rival my wife?s and crème Brule to die for with an awesome presentation, with coffees capped the night.
We don't get out as often as we like but this place is definitely a great restaurant with great food and a staff that really cares! Now I know why there were so many cars parked in the lot. We'll be back with friends

Great wine, great food
"I have participated in one of their Wine Tastings that they hold monthly and thought it was outstanding! The wines were fabulouse, and any questions were welcomed and happily answered. The food pairings were both exquisite and delicious, and went together in perfect harmony. I returned to the Big A for dinner on New Years and had exceptional service from beginning to end. I'm a vegitarian and they had a wonderful veggie special that night, and my husband had a perfectly cooked steak. We signed up for their free diners club card to save on future visits."

We will never return
Pros: Nice venue
Cons: Horrible Service
"We brought a party of 8 to this restaurant and received the worst service I have ever encountered. After waiting almost an hour for our entrees they complely forgot one of party's dinner. The owner was present and never even offered an apology. His comment was "these things happen" The food we managed to get was marginal and the prices were no bargain."

Great Food and Service
Pros: Fresh Food at great prices
Cons: None
"After a long day hiking in the Gap and on our way back to the hotel we saw a billboard for the Big "A" Seafood and Steak. So hungry we were, we stopped... It was the best food at great prices the whole weekend. The service was great also. The vegetables were fresh, not canned, they were cooked perfect as was the Steaks. We plan to go back and eat there next time we're up that way...Way to go Big "A", in our many weekend trips you are at the top of our list for great food and service..... "
